Russian Chapter's Business Breakfast
On January 27, 2023, the Russian Chapter held a business breakfast in Moscow.
Anna Nesterova, the Russian Chapter's Chairperson, spoke about the plans and events for 2023, the year of South Africa's Chairship in the BRICS. The main theme of South Africa's Chairship is BRICS-Africa export-oriented economic growth agenda with women entrepreneurs and SMME's at the center. The Russian Chapter finds 2023 especially important since 2023 will be the preparatory period for the Russia's Chairship in 2024.
The year of South Africa's BRICS Chairship will be eventful. The South African Chapter will host the first BRICS Organic Farming Association meeting, the Sustainability Summit on just energy transition, the WBA-APEC Women Connect Workshop, the BRICS-Africa Trade Fair on culture and heritage, the Joint Working Group meetings, the BRICS Business Forum and the XV BRICS Summit.
The Russian Chapters representatives discussed the roadmap on projects and initiatives within the framework of five working groups, as well as new directions for cooperation. Additionally, the participants were acquainted with the draft Concept of the Russian BRICS Chairship in 2024.
During the meeting, new members who have joined the work of the Alliance in 2023 were introduced: Oksana Dutova, Natalya Trankovskaya, Liana-Aisha Osman.
Following the business breakfast, the Russian Chapter's representatives outlined a work plan and set specific goals for implementation in 2023.
