BRICS Business Women Alliance was presented in Saint Petersburg
September 21 in St. Petersburg in the Second Eurasian Women's Forum was the presentation of the Women's Business Alliance BRICS. The participants discussed the main tasks of the Alliance and the instruments for their implementation.

The event was attended by a member of the management of the investment holding "Sekunjalo Investment" Zenariah Barends, president of the BRICS International Forum Purnima Anand, founder and executive director of the company "Ladies in the frontline" Slauzi Mogami, and chairperson of Global Rus Trade Anna Nesterova. Natalia Strigunova, Deputy Director of the Department for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation participated as a moderator.

Anna Nesterova in her speech noted that to date, most women entrepreneurs in the BRICS countries have predominantly small or medium-sized businesses and do not have the opportunity to enter global markets. The Alliance will become a platform for new initiatives in the development of women's business. Anna Nesterova stressed that the key activities of the Alliance will be to expand access to capital and reduce barriers to business development. It is also planned to pay special attention to the development of women's entrepreneurship in the media and telecommunications industries, fashion, arts and crafts and tourism.

A member of the management of the investment holding "Sekunjalo Investment" Zenariah Barends spoke about the development of the agenda of the BRICS Alliance in South Africa. She noted the importance of creating practical tools for business development: women entrepreneurs should be able to use tools to find new partners, share experiences and attract investment for their projects.

President of the BRICS International Forum Purnima Anand shared her experience of developing women's entrepreneurship in India. In her opinion, the barrier of access to information is the main issue for involving women in the economy. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the development of women's enterprises from remote regions.
