On Saturday, 11th May 2024, the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) South Africa participated in a significant Business Dinner and Consultation Session aimed at the launch of the India-South Africa Chamber of Commerce. Held at the esteemed L’Aperitivo Venue in Durban, South Africa, the event served as a crucial platform for strengthening economic ties and exploring collaborative opportunities between the two nations. The session brought together influential leaders and executives from prominent companies such as Mahindra and Mahindra South Africa, Jindal Africa, Tata Motors South Africa Pty Ltd, and Zensar Technologies.

The evening featured keynote addresses from key figures, including His Excellency Prof. Anil Sooklal, the Designated Ambassador of South Africa to India. Prof. Sooklal emphasized the strategic importance of the India-South Africa partnership and the pivotal role that the new Chamber of Commerce will play in fostering deeper economic cooperation. The discussions during the session highlighted the potential for collaborative efforts across various sectors, including automotive, technology, and infrastructure, and set the stage for impactful bilateral relations.

Ms. Lebogang Zulu, Executive Chairperson of BRICS WBA South Africa, delivered a powerful speech underscoring the importance of engaging women entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in driving the economic growth of both countries.
