On September 20, 2024, at the IV Eurasian Women’s Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was solemnly signed between the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance and the Association of Businesswomen of Kazakhstan on the establishment of the BRICS WBA Regional Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Memorandum was signed by Anna Nesterova, Global Chairperson of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance, and Irina Belyaeva, Chairperson of the Association of Businesswomen in the Magistau region and the city of Aktau of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Anna Nesterova emphasized that Kazakhstan is a very serious business partner with which the BRICS WBA Russia Chapter is actively working: “Within the framework of the BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum, we saw serious interest from women entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, who expressed a desire to join the BRICS WBA working agenda. This was the basis for signing a MOU  to establish the BRICS WBA Regional Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This economic track is extremely important for us. We will continue cooperating with our partners in all the main areas that the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance is currently working on.”

In turn, Irina Belyaeva noted that the launch of the Regional Office opens up great prospects for mutual cooperation: “We are women entrepreneurs, so I will tell you in numbers. The longest border in the world is the border between Kazakhstan and Russia. We are the closest neighbors. And as you know, there is a very good proverb that a neighbor is closer than a distant relative.”

The establishment of the BRICS WBA Regional Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan will contribute to the development of cooperation between women entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan and the BRICS countries.
