From November 26 to 29, 2024, the final meeting of the BRICS Sherpas and Sous-Sherpas takes place in Yekaterinburg.
On November 27, 2024, as part of the first day of the business program, participants discussed politics and security, as well as economic, financial, and business cooperation. Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance, participated in the meeting and reported on the results of the Alliance’s activities for 2024.
In her speech, Anna Nesterova spoke about the initiatives of the Alliance, including the Common BRICS Digital Platform, which unites more than 2,000 women entrepreneurs from 30 countries and 1,000 projects and startups; project on care economy, which resulted in the BRICS White Paper with the best practices of the countries in this area; BRICS Mobility Centers; BRICS Women’s Development Report 2024.
In addition, the BRICS WBA Chairperson highlighted the main events of the Alliance in 2024, including WeForum (Brazil), BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum (Russia), BRICS Women’s Leadership Forum (China), and BRICS Women’s Startups Contest (Russia).
Anna Nesterova noted that in 2024, the BRICS WBA has made every effort to ensure that colleagues from new countries join the BRICS family swiftly and seamlessly, and also stressed the importance of the opening of the BRICS WBA Regional Offices in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
In conclusion, the BRICS WBA Chairperson outlined the plans for the coming year and expressed full support for Brazil as the next presiding country in the association.
The Alliance plans to continue developing the digital platform and other BRICS WBA initiatives, including the launch of new regional offices. It is also planned to provide the winners of the BRICS Women’s Startups Contest with comprehensive support to promote their projects in the BRICS space.
