Last year’s total transactions reached US$ 8 million; new contracts are expected to be done over the next two months
Belo Horizonte, Brazil – The WEForum ended with more than a hundred opportunities in business deals finalized through 85 B2B meetings. This is a provisional figure, as there are two types of negotiations: deals made during the event and promises of partnership to be formalized within two months after the forum. The consolidated outcome of last year’s event was US$ 8 million.
The roundtable included companies of various sizes. Elizângela Baltazar, a small business owner from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, participated with her company Savre – a phytotherapeutic tailoring business that uses a blend of herbs for fabric dyeing. The process is artisanal and, according to Elizângela, has therapeutic purposes. During the business roundtable, she connected with three international companies from Dubai, Africa, and Paraguay. “My intention is to send a capsule collection to these countries. As a slow fashion business, the first step is this shipment, and then we will close the deals. I am very confident,” she stated.
This year, WEForum was part of the international event agenda within the Women Business Alliance (WBA). WBA is a private group of entrepreneurs from BRICS countries, which include Brazil, India, Russia, China, South Africa, along with new members: UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.
Mônica Monteiro, Global Chairperson of WBA BRICS, highlighted that the last day of the event was “dedicated to the private sector and the integration of women who want and are ready to export. The connections made possible by WEForum are initiatives that should be encouraged and occur more frequently to strengthen women’s prominence in business,” she emphasized.
Apart from the business roundtable, the second day of the forum featured eight panels discussing market trends in consumption, energy, leadership, innovation, women’s health science, AI and personalized medicine in combating chronic diseases, wellness challenges, women in politics, infrastructure and mobility, logistics and supply chain advancements for a sustainable world, creative industry, and internationalization of businesses.
WEForum, a business meeting within the Women Business Alliance (WBA BRICS), attracted 1,151 attendees to the capital of Minas Gerais over its two-day event, along with a global audience via streaming. Representatives from at least 10 countries gathered in Belo Horizonte on Wednesday and Thursday for a special agenda designed to foster connections, expand partnerships, and discuss strategic topics concerning the economy, innovation, and women’s leadership in promoting sustainable businesses and access to financial resources, combating gender inequality and violence in business, and promoting safe and inclusive workspaces.
The event is part of the Women Business Alliance of BRICS (BRICS WBA) agenda and is organized in partnership with several Brazilian business and government institutions, and supported by various sponsors and international organizations.
