Representatives of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance participated in the business program of the World Youth Festival Assembly, which was held in Nizhny Novgorod from September 17 to 21, 2025 and brought together 2,000 young people from Russia and 120 countries.
At the case session “The Power of Mentorship: International Launch of the BRICS Program”, Irawati Hermawan, CEO, Hemawan Juniarto&Partners, Member of thr BRICS WBA Indonesian Chapter, and Azam Karami, Founder of Vira Kavir, Member of the BRICS WBA Iranian Chapter, discussed the role of mentoring in business development, as well as the cultural differences in the approach to mentorship between countries.
One of the highlights of the session was the official launch of the BRICS International Youth Mentoring Program. This joint project of the BRICS WBA and the WYF Directorate will provide 20 young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to receive personalized guidance from successful female leaders, attend masterclasses and webinars on management techniques and international business partnerships. As part of the case session “From Courage to Success: Women’s Leadership Trajectories”, speakers from Indonesia, Iran, Russia and Malaysia shared their personal success stories and talked about women’s leadership in politics, business, science and international cooperation.
Saliza Abdullah, Group Managing Director, BG Capital Holdings; Deputy President, National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia, expounded on how participation in international alliances expands business and leadership opportunities.
Nalalya Strigunova, Head of the Scientific Coordination Department, Curator of the Student Scientific Association of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, stressed the importance of scientific training and mentoring for shaping a woman’s career in global politics. The expert particularly noted that scientific initiatives and events contribute to the growth of competencies, the expansion of business ties and the maximum involvement of women in the global agenda.
