The Food Security & Environmental Safety Working Group of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance held its inaugural meeting under India’s Chairship, with participation from representatives across BRICS member countries. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to collaborative engagement and knowledge exchange on issues at the intersection of food security, environmental sustainability and women’s leadership in agri-food systems. Members shared national perspectives and experiences across priority areas including women entrepreneurship, climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable practices, digital inclusion and nutrition security. The meeting provided an important platform to initiate dialogue, identify areas of cooperation and shape the Working Group’s roadmap for 2026, while reaffirming the collective intent to promote inclusive growth, strengthen resilient food systems and enhance women’s participation across the agri-food value chain in BRICS countries.
