Goal: to improve the lives of people with disabilities through various support services and advocacy work.
Brief description: DAT has played a crucialrole in promoting the rights and well-being of people with disabilities in Iran. Its comprehensive approach, including treatment, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy, has led to greater independence and social participation for many individuals.
Tavana Association established Housing Cooperative Co. of the Disabled (It has already managed to construct 148 apartments.), Goods Cooperative Company of the Disabled, the first public library for the disabled, launched the encouragement festivals of exemplary students, launched the sport facilities of the disabled women, produced short films, organized specialist seminars with the topic of equipping the urban system with travel and transportation facilities for the disabled, created over 80 jobs for the disabled.
Collection, classification and dissemination of local and international rules and regulations regarding the people with disabilities, and making them aware of their rights as well as pursuing the government to fulfill its obligations before them is one of the most important objectives of Tavana for empowerment and awareness raising.
