Food Security and Agriculture for South Africa

We propose to establish a commercial aquaponic venture in the Sekhukhune District Municipality area to create an opportunity to address issues of food security, unemployment, empowerment of women, lack of arable soil, and sustainable development. The system we will be using is the Kleinskuur Commercial Aquaponic System which can produce 50 000 heads of lettuce, 7 000 kg of tomatoes and 4 tonnes of tilapia every month in less than half a hectare in South Africa Limpopo Province.
