HARNESSING ROAD PREASSURE FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN GAUTENG through the use of SMART ROAD DEVICES: Gauteng experiences significant traffic congestion due to its growing population and economic activity. This congestion leads to wear and tear on road infrastructure and contributes to overall energy demands. By installing pressure sensors beneath high-traffic roadways, the feasibility study aims to capture and convert the mechanical energy generated by vehicles into electrical energy. This approach directly addresses the challenge of energy demand while leveraging existing infrastructure. The primary innovation lies in the integration of road pressure sensors to capture mechanical energy from vehicular traffic. This solution serves a dual purpose as it not only generates renewable electrical energy but also integrates seamlessly with smart city applications through IoT Technology. By combining energy harvesting with real-time traffic insights, the system provides holistic benefits for urban infrastructure and transportation management.
