The BRICS Women’s Leadership Forum 2025 kicked off with an inspiring opening speech from Monica Monteiro, Global Chairperson of the Women’s Business Alliance – WBA of BRICS and President of the Brazilian National Forum of Women in Industry – FNME of CNI. Held in Beijing, the event gathered global leaders committed to reshaping the future with vision, resilience, and purpose.

“I am at the 2025 BRICS Women’s Leadership Forum in Beijing, China, surrounded by extraordinary global leaders who are reshaping the future,” Monteiro remarked, expressing gratitude to Ricardo Alban, President of CNI – Brazilian National Industry Confederation (CNI) and its CNI international team for their steadfast commitment to strengthening female leadership in industry and international trade. “Their efforts are vital in driving real transformation,” she emphasized.

Monteiro highlighted the mission of the Women’s Business Alliance – WBA of BRICS, focusing on increasing the number of BRICS women entrepreneurs connected to international markets and strengthening the presence of women in leadership roles within industrial organizations. “This mission is not just necessary — it is urgent,” Monteiro stated, underscoring the importance of executing bold initiatives within the WBA.

Monica Monteiro’s speech also emphasized the preparation of women to seize global business opportunities through international training and matchmaking programs, advocating for inclusive policies, and building strong leadership networks. “These efforts aim to empower female entrepreneurs across BRICS nations to exchange best practices, generate business opportunities, and amplify their voices at decision-making tables,” she said.

The forum’s theme, “Weaving Wonders: Women’s Business Leadership Driving BRICS Economic Cooperation,” perfectly encapsulates the event’s goals. “Together, we are weaving wonders,” Monteiro said, highlighting the potential for a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future with women at the forefront of global cooperation.

As Brazil holds the BRICS Presidency in 2025, Monteiro sees this as a unique opportunity to position Brazil not only as a thriving market but as a strategic partner in innovation, investment, and global transformation. “Brazil is open for business — and even more, Brazil is ready to lead,” she announced.

Monteiro concluded her address by extending a warm invitation to the delegation attending the Forum next July in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizing the significance of collaboration and shared progress. She reiterated universal values such as solidarity and cooperation, vital for building just and prosperous societies.

The BRICS Women’s Leadership Forum in China continues by highlighting other discussions focused on harnessing female leadership to catalyze economic cooperation, innovation, and sustainable, inclusive development among BRICS nations. As the event unfolds, it promises to further consolidate the role of women as crucial players in the global economic environment.
