On 15 December 2025, The Russian Chapter of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance participated in a roundtable held in Kazan in a case-dialogue format titled “Start in BRICS: Opportunities for Women’s Business in Tatarstan.”
The event was moderated by Alsu Nabieva, Rector of the Russian University of Cooperation, Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Head of the Association of Women Deputies “Märxämät-Miloserdiye.”
Opening remarks were delivered by Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of the Russian Chapter of the BRICS WBA. She presented the structure of the Alliance and highlighted the opportunities it provides for women entrepreneurs in Tatarstan.
“Women entrepreneurs in Tatarstan have enormous potential. They are results-oriented: not only do they initiate projects, but they also know how to bring them to completion,” — emphasized Anna Nesterova.
Key Outcomes of the Round Table:
During the discussion, several initiatives were presented to support women’s entrepreneurship and strengthen cooperation with BRICS countries:
Women’s Halal Track within BRICS, proposed by Dilyara Fatkullina, Vice-President of the Association of Muslim Entrepreneurs of the Russian Federation, presented a number of initiatives, includes:
— establishment of a Women’s Halal Track;
— organisation of an annual BRICS WBA Halal Forum;
— support for the export of halal products and services to BRICS markets.
BRICS Publishing House for Science and Technology, proposed by Leisan Abzalilova, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Financial Support for Women-Led Projects, highlighted by Lyalya Kudermetova, Director of the Tatarstan Regional Branch of the Russian Agricultural Bank, including preferential loans, grants, and advisory support.
The initiative to establish a Women’s Halal Track within the BRICS WBA framework was supported by Anna Nesterova, and Indonesia and Malaysia were identified as potential partner countries.
