Larsen & Toubro is a USD 32 Billion, tech-driven Indian multinational engaged in EPC Projects, Hi-Tech Manufacturing and Services and operating in over 50 countries worldwide. The Company operates at the cutting edge of technology across its verticals, ranging from megastructures to microchips.
‘Learning & Training’ is embedded in the DNA of the organisation, empowering L&Tites at every level to ‘Take the Leap’ – transforming employees into innovators and projects into icons of excellence. At L&T, pride meets purpose through inclusivity. We ‘make the things that make India proud’, while ensuring sustainable growth for our cohorts, communities and country alike.
L&T’s commitment to gender diversity is reflected in a comprehensive suite of DEI initiatives spanning leadership, hiring, retention and workplace policy.
The Winspire leadership program has trained over 800 women, contributing to an overall diversity ratio that has grown from 6% in 2021 to nearly 10% in 2026 (~6,000 women employees), alongside women’s hiring rising from 10% to ~14% and women in senior roles increasing from ~100 to ~120.
Campus recruitment has also strengthened the pipeline, with women comprising 30% of new hires over the last three years, while attrition among women has dropped from 14% to 8%, reflecting stronger engagement and retention.
These gains are supported by enabling policies such as creche facilities, wellness rooms, maternity-related protections extending to adoption and surrogacy, infant travel and transport support, and flexible work arrangements. The Company announced a ‘wellness leave’ for women employees reflecting the intent of caring and an enabling environment for growth and development.
At L&T today, women are leading strategic project teams, including several all-women teams across engineering, R&D, and construction functions.
