São Paulo, Brazil – International members of the Women Business Association (WBA) were welcomed by Monica Monteiro, the Chairperson Global of WBA. Among the guests was Ludmila Vladimirovna Popova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Director of the Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting at I.S. Turgenev OGU (Russia, Orel).
The reception took place at Universidade Mackenzie, a university in São Paulo, Brazil. Popova delivered a lecture titled “School on Literacy and Financial Security for Women in BRICS Countries” addressing issues surrounding financial literacy and security among women in BRICS nations. Universidade Mackenzie provides a platform for discussions on global economic challenges and solutions by hosting international scholars.
On Tuesday, March 25, Ludmila Vladimirovna Popova will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Universidade Católica de Brasília (UCB). The agreement aims to enhance educational, scientific, and informational support, and involves various areas of cooperation, including exchange programs and joint research initiatives.
Industry technical visit
Another Russian delegation, including Russian Trade Representative in São Paulo, Arslan Tsyrendorzhiev, was welcomed by the Vice Leader of the WBA BRICS Health Working Group, Elisa Kovalski, and conducted a technical visit to Eurofarma. With 50 years in the pharmaceutical sector, the industry operates in 22 countries and achieved a net revenue of R$ 680 million in 2022. They presented their diverse portfolio of over 12,600 products and 3,700 specialties, supported by their four FDA-certified factories and expansion strategy through Genfar.
Third Opinion AI, a Russian company specializing in AI for healthcare, showcased its decision-support solutions and its SaaS platform for medical image analysis. Anna Meshcheryakova, CEO and co-founder, highlighted the company’s success in identifying COVID-19 pneumonia in CT scans and its international competition achievements.
The delegation met with Walker Lahmann, the Executive Director, discussing potential collaborations and strategic partnerships. Walker Lahmann will also participate in the health panel at WE Forum on March 27.
Russian representatives also visited FIESP headquarters in São Paulo to deliver a presentation focusing on the implementation and business model of AI software for medical image analysis. The presentation was attended by representatives from FIESP, including Vice President Benjamin Steinbruch and Executive Director Paulo Skaf. FIESP, the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo, is a prominent association representing thousands of industries in São Paulo and plays a key role in promoting and supporting industrial activities in the region. Sofia Doan, representative of Sao Thai Duong JSC in Russia also attended.
Arrival of Other Delegations
The Chinese delegation, represented by Zhao Haiying, Chairperson of BRICS WBA Chinese Chapter, Head of Working Group on Food Security and Environmental Safety, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of China Investment Corporation, along with Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of BRICS WBA Russian Chapter, Head of Working Group on Innovative Development, Founder of Watchmaking Manufactury Palekh Watch, will arrive in Brazil on Tuesday, March 25.
A welcome lunch is scheduled at the CNI headquarters in Brasília. In the afternoon, the Global Chairperson of WBA BRICS will deliver an oral presentation at the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. As the President of the National Forum of Women Entrepreneurs – National Confederation of Industry (CNI), she will participate in the Fifth National Meeting of Women’s Attorneys. The National Network of Women’s Attorney defines goals aimed at promoting the integration of actions for the protection and defense of women’s rights, coordinated by Women’s Attorney offices at the National Congress, states, Federal District, and municipalities. Additionally, it seeks to encourage the creation and strengthening of these offices across the country, contributing to the expansion of female representation in political and institutional spheres.
The foreign delegations came especially for the WEForum, which gathers women entrepreneurs and will take place on March 26 and 27 in Belo Horizonte. The forum expects representatives from delegations of at least eight countries.
