Imagine the following situation: an accident occurs during a hemodialysis session because a professional that is still in training was taking care of a patient. We all know that quality hemodialysis is essential for the patient to be eligible for a kidney transplant. However, when we sacrifice this time for training, we not only compromise the quality of the treatment, we also put the patient at risk.

It was specifically to avoid these scenarios that I developed the ISHA Project, the first hemodialysis simulator in Brazil. My name is Renata Cândido da Silva, I am a nurse with over 28 years of experience in the field and the creator of the project.

ISHA was created to humanize and optimize the training of healthcare professionals, avoiding the discomfort of training while providing care. The simulator uses a doll called Eva, which simulates hemodialysis completely, including the bloodstream. This allows training to be carried out in a safe environment, without exposing patients to unnecessary risks.
