The BRICS Women Innovation Contest, organized by the Chinese Chapter of the WBA and co-sponsored by the Indian, Russian, Brazilian, and South African Chapters of the WBA, has concluded.
As a women-oriented event, the contest aimed to share best business practices or initiatives led by women in BRICS countries with a view to recognize outstanding female entrepreneurs among BRICS countries with their achievements in different fields and promotion of social welfare and economic development. The contest was open to all women entrepreneurs across the BRICS countries to unleash women’s potentials and innovation in the market.
Hundreds of women entrepreneurs from all five countries participated. The applicants in the context were judged on a detailed criterion that included amongst other things prospects on industry and markets, application of unique technology and business model, commitment to social responsibility and role played in inspiring teams to commit to a shared vision.
By the end of the contest, 15 winners were selected. They were given an Award of Mulan in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their fields and their promotion of social welfare and economic development.
Elena Chashchina, CEO of the EPOTOS group of companies, Chairperson of the Alliance Working Group on Creative Industries and Tourism, became the winner of the BRICS Women Innovation Contest from Russia. EPOTOS is the leading Russian company in the development, production and implementation of various fire extinguishing equipment.
