The participants of the BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum discussed the role of women in the inclusive economy of the BRICS countries

The discussion took place during the panel session «The Role of Women in Inclusive BRICS Economy», moderated by Galina Volkova, PhD, Founder of the Ortomoda Group of Companies, Head of Working Group on Inclusive Economy of the Russian Chapter of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance.

The general partner of the BRICS Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum was Sberbank.

During the session, participants from Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Iran and Ethiopia shared the experience and best practices of their countries to increase the level of women’s participation in the formation of an inclusive business space that contributes to the sustainable development of the BRICS countries.

Thus, Margarete de Castro Coelho, Administration and Finance Director at SEBRAE told about the role of small businesses in the inclusive economy of Brazil, as well as about the main activities of SEBRAE in supporting SMEs. Co-founder and CTO of Empower Integrated Solutions Pvt Ltd. Mamta Bakliwal focused on the role of information technology in the development of an inclusive economy in India and on the opportunities for women in IT . Dr. Nigest Haile, Founder & Executive Director of the Center for Accelerated Women’s Economic Empowerment, spoke about the challenges that women face in business, as well as the main results Ethiopia has achieved in women’s economic empowerment.

Mina Mehrnoosh, Owner and CEO of KASBINO, Zhang Junjin, CEO of Nao Technology Co., Ltd., CEO of Shanghai Xianji Medical Science and Technology Development Co. Zhang Dandan, Founder and Chairman of China Agricultural Credit Financial Technology Co., Ltd and Nefertari Galeta, consultant on diversity, equality and inclusivity, public health Ambassador and founding teacher of Brill Public Charter Schools also told about the activities of their companies and ongoing projects in the field of inclusive economy development.

“An inclusive economy is not only a women’s economy, it is equal rights for all,” Galina Volkova stressed once again, summing up the discussion.
