As part of the business mission held in Abuja on September 29-30, 2025, the Russian Chapter of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance delivered 1,000 kits for Nigerian women in labour.

The humanitarian aid was presented at a personal meeting of Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, First Lady of Nigeria, with the Russian delegation led by Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of the Russian Chapter of the BRICS WBA.

This step demonstrates the Alliance’s strong commitment to improving maternal health on the African continent.

“Nigeria is among the countries with the highest birth rates — on average, each woman has 4-5 children. An important task for the healthcare system is to reduce the maternal mortality rate during childbirth. The collection and delivery of humanitarian aid has become one of the stages of BRICS’ comprehensive support for Nigeria’s sustainable development goals”, – said Anna Nesterova.

The Alliance’s contribution aligns with the goals of the Nigerian First Lady Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Initiative” (RHI) focusing on programmes for women, children, and families.

The Alliance’s further strategy involves expanding humanitarian cooperation and strengthening business interaction with women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

“The next step should be joint projects in digital technologies, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, labor mobility, education, and the creative industries”, – said Anna Nesterova.
