The BRICS Women’s Business Alliance Platform will become a common information and communication tool for building connections and developing cooperation among women entrepreneurs. It will be a mechanism for sharing knowledge, experience and best practices and facilitating business partnerships among businesswomen in the BRICS.
In 2021, the Russian Chapter put forth the development of the BRICS WBA Platform. All the BRICS WBA members supported this initiative. On February 25, 2022, the Russian Chapter presented the prototype of the platform at the Handover Meeting, and later that year, developed technical requirements of the project, prototype, page layout and corporate identity (logos, colours, fonts, patterns, icons, UI kit, and identity guideline) of the platform. The Alliance members agreed on the final layouts. To date, back-end and front-end development and content filling are being conducted. Testing of versions 1.0 and 2.0 is scheduled for the end of 2023.
The platform will contain information about the BRICS WBA joint projects and initiatives, documents and agreements, research and surveys, interviews and videos. Women from the BRICS nations will be able to find information about the latest developments, including news, activities and events. The Platform will also provide access to a database of companies owned or managed by women and educational materials and online courses developed for women.
Each National Chapter will have its own page reflecting its yearly activities since 2020. The Secretariats will fill the platform with content on behalf of the corresponding National Chapters.
In June 2023, during the Working Group on Inclusive Economy meeting, the BRICS WBA Rotating Chairperson Lebogang Zulu and the Alliance members supported the intended objectives of the BRICS WBA Digital Platform.
The official launch of the BRICS WBA Platform is expected to take place in 2024.
