On June 5, 2023, on the sidelines of the 2023 BRICS Women's Leadership Forum, Zhao Haiying, Chairperson of BRICS WBA China Chapter, and Anna Nesterova, Chairperson of BRICS WBA Russia Chapter, held the first face-to-face meeting.

The sides discussed promising areas of interaction and cooperation, as well as the establishment of possible mechanisms within the BRICS WBA aimed at the inclusion of women entrepreneurs in trade and economic relations between the two countries.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the upcoming Russian chairship in the BRICS in 2024. Anna Nesterova invited Zhao Haiying and all members of BRICS WBA China Chapter to take part in the main events of Russia Chapter next year.

Following the meeting, the Chairpersons expressed their hope for further fruitful cooperation, as well as for the development of trade and economic potential between women entrepreneurs in Russia and China.
