On February 1, 2024, the Rotating Chairperson of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance, Anna Nesterova, took part in the first meeting of the BRICS Sherpas/Sous-Sherpas in Moscow.

The agenda of the meeting was led by the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Russia's Sherpa in BRICS, Sergei Ryabkov.

During the meeting, Anna Nesterova presented the BRICS WBA workplan, priorities and initiatives for Russia's chairship in BRICS in 2024.

The BRICS WBA Rotating Chairperson noted the high level of organization of South Africa's chairship in BRICS and the great contribution made by the South African side to the development of multilateral cooperation among the BRICS countries in 2023.

Anna Nesterova told the Sherpas of the BRICS countries about the activities, main directions of work, key projects and planned events of the Alliance for 2024.

During the speech, the Rotating Chairperson of BRICS WBA invited partners from the new member countries to join the Alliance's activities and emphasized the readiness for their integration into the current work agenda.

Chairman of the BRICS Business Council Sergei Katyrin and President of the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners Yuri Katsnelson also took part in the meeting.

Following the meeting, the Sherpas of the BRICS countries highlighted the importance of developing and promoting business cooperation among women entrepreneurs and note the great importance of the work of the BRICS WBA mechanism.
